MSGCU offers more than 30 scholarships for students and educators

Application period opens today!

Michigan Schools & Government Credit Union (MSGCU) is proud to offer 31 total scholarships to local high school seniors, college students, and educators to aide in their educational journey. Applications are being accepted starting today for the Rudolph Heino College Scholarship, Educational Solutions Scholarship, Larry Swantek Educational Studies Scholarship, and Educator Advantage Scholarship. The scholarships recognize academic achievement, community service, and an applicant’s commitment to learning.

Over the course of many years, MSGCU has helped hundreds of students and educators fund their higher education pursuits through its annual scholarship program. Offering more than $100,000 in awards, applications are now being accepted for the following scholarships:

Rudolph Heino College Scholarship for high school seniors who embody the MSGCU philosophy of “people helping people.” Five $2,500 scholarships are offered.

Educational Solutions Scholarship for high school seniors planning to attend a two- or four-year college or university. Eighteen $2,500 scholarships are offered.

Larry Swantek Educational Studies Scholarship for high school seniors who plan to major in Education or current college students with an Education major. Four $2,500 scholarships are offered.

Educator Advantage Scholarship for certified educators and administrators of early childhood, primary, secondary and post-secondary schools who are continuing their education. Four $2,500 scholarships are offered.

Scholarship details, eligibility requirements, selection criteria and online applications can be found at msgcuscholarships.org.  The application period is now open and runs through March 2, 2018.

In addition to college scholarships, MSGCU also offers twelve $2,500 First Responder Scholarships to students enrolled in police or fire academies at Macomb Community College, Oakland Community College, and Schoolcraft College. Information on these scholarships is available through the academy program directors.
