Hall to become Truliant President, Schaefer to remain CEO

Truliant Federal Credit Union announced today that President and Chief Executive Officer Marc Schaefer was succeeded as President by Todd Hall, formerly Chief Operating Officer, effective January 1, 2018. Schaefer will continue to serve as the credit union’s CEO.

Greg Thrush, chairman of Truliant’s Board of Directors, said, “Todd is the right person to lead us into the future and we are delighted to have him assume the position of president. Under his able guidance the credit union will not only uphold our promise to always have our members’ best interest at heart and our mission to improve more member lives, but also continue to strengthen the financial foundation for decades to come. Since joining Truliant in 2012, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership on our executive team, and our members have benefitted from his vast experience in all aspects of financial services. Todd has been instrumental in building and operating those services with Truliant and he will help us realize the long-term potential of this credit union.”

Hall joined Truliant in August, 2012. He has been responsible for leading the credit union’s day-to-day operations and has helped guide the strategic direction during his tenure. Hall has helped streamline Truliant’s processes and systems to simplify and enhance the member experience with the Member Financial Centers, the Member Contact Center and mobile/digital channels.

Hall’s focus has been keenly member-centric, with initiatives committed to expanding convenience throughout all interactions with the credit union. This led to adding 13 branches – including 10 in the Charlotte region – along with increasing Truliant’s Tru2Go suite of digital services – offering cutting edge technology to stay ahead of its members’ ever-changing needs. Consistent with Truliant’s mission, Hall has led the charge to provide members with relevant and timely guidance through the credit union’s digital delivery channels to help them reach their financial goals.

“Todd has demonstrated his impressive commitment to Truliant and its members for over five years as COO,” Schaefer said. “Our leadership teams have blossomed and grown with his guidance as we continue to develop the financial and leadership foundation for our future. Todd lives our shared vision of helping our members build strong financial futures by providing guidance and adding greater value through our affordable and easily accessible services.”

Schaefer and Hall will continue to work together to develop the strategic path for Truliant, collaborating closely with senior management and the Board of Directors. “Marc’s leadership, mentorship and experience will continue to be a benefit to me and the credit union as we continue with our partnership,” Hall said.

“I am excited about the opportunity to lead Truliant,” he said. “It has been my great pleasure to collaborate with and guide our talented team as we’ve built on our momentum as a forward-looking, community-focused, credit union industry leader. Our vision is to continue to expand our services to our communities through face-to-face, phone and mobile/digital channels. We are here for our members as a trusted financial partner. We are also committed to continue to make Truliant a great place to work and to build a satisfying career.”

Prior to joining Truliant, Hall served in senior and executive roles for several large southeastern financial institutions with oversight and responsibility for major areas across the organizations. In addition to his professional career, Hall has served numerous organizations that align with Truliant’s purpose, including the North Carolina Advisory Board of the Small Business and Technology Development Center, the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership board of directors, Winston-Salem Business Inc. (WSBI) board and the Carolina Credit Union Services, Inc. board.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina. Hall and his wife, Shannon, have two sons, Matt and Luke.
