Unitus unveils new software for loan, membership applications

Unitus has installed a brand new loan and account origination system to reduce friction points and improve the member experience.

Launched in December 2017, the new system successfully combined what had been two distinct systems into one. The new interface provides a more efficient, intuitive experience for members applying for loans or Unitus membership. On the backend, it interfaces more smoothly with the credit union’s core system, Episys.

“This update is part of our commitment to continuously improving member service,” said Brian Alfano, Vice President and Chief Retail Officer at Unitus. “This new technology makes it easier for members to make sense of and apply for loans. The product descriptions are clearer, the process is simpler, and we are excited for the opportunities it brings to help members make an impact in their communities.”

To help with the transition, Unitus selected and trained 15 employees to beta test the software, continuously redesigning the workflow to match real-life member needs. This group included employees from almost every Unitus branch and department so that whenever a member would have a question, they wouldn’t be far from a subject matter expert.
