PSECU’s Karen Rousche recognized as 2018 Woman of Excellence

Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, PSECU, is proud to announce that Karen Rousche, Public Relations Coordinator, has been chosen as one of the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg’s 2018 Women of Excellence. Rousche will be among 33 women honored at the organization’s 29th annual Tribute to Women of Excellence (TWE) award ceremony on March 22.

“It’s a great honor to be selected as part of the YWCA’s Tribute to Women of Excellence Class of 2018, joining the ranks of many admirable women that have come before me,” said Rousche. “I hold the Women of Excellence in high regards for the lasting, positive impacts they’ve had on our community.”

According to the TWE event website, over the past 28 years, the YWCA has honored more than 560 extraordinary women for their professional and philanthropical contributions to the Central Pennsylvania region with the Women of Excellence Awards. Those recipients – including several PSECU employees throughout the years – participate actively in the community as a mentor, volunteer, or role model; demonstrate integrity, strength of character, and leadership; and embrace the vision and mission of the YWCA.

“Karen Rousche is exemplary of a Woman of Excellence. She is talented and dedicated to her career, and she is passionate about helping others and making the community a better place for everyone,” said Barb Bowker, PSECU Vice President of Marketing and Membership Development and 2014 Woman of Excellence award recipient. “We are extremely proud to have her as part of our team.”

In her role with PSECU, Rousche is responsible for developing, maintaining, and engaging PSECU in the community. This involves representing the credit union on various nonprofit committees and assisting nonprofits in the orchestration of community events. She also supports PSECU’s financial education programming. Karen came to the credit union in 2014 with more than 20 years of experience in event planning throughout Central Pennsylvania.

Those who have worked with Rousche have been witness to the trademark “above and beyond” enthusiasm she brings to events that benefit causes she supports, both professionally and personally. Her efforts promote the YWCA Greater Harrisburg, including its Race Against Racism, and she is a board member for Randi’s House of Angels, an organization that helps children exposed to domestic violence. Additionally, Rousche volunteers with Junior Achievement and participates on committees supporting the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women, Suits to Careers, and Meeting Planners International – Middle PA Chapter.
