Pelican State Credit Union merged with St. Landry Federal Credit Union in November 2017 and is excited to announce that Pelican membership is now open to all St. Landry Parish residents. To celebrate, Pelican is hosting a free Community Financial Wellness Workshop on Tuesday, March 27 in Opelousas!
The workshop will take place at the Delta Grand Theatre at 120 S Market Street, and it offers the community an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of credit reports as well as tips and tricks to achieve and maintain healthy scores.
Doors open for the event at 5:30 pm, and a Pelican Nationally Certified Credit Counselor will begin the Credit Score Breakdown presentation at 6:00 pm. Pelican will serve a jambalaya dinner and dessert to all guests. Each attendee will also be able to enter to win one of the two prizes given away after the presentation!
Along with being a free event, it is also open to the public. Pelican membership is not required to attend the workshop, receive dinner or win a prize.
“Pelican State Credit Union is excited to open credit union membership to the entire parish as we continue to serve the St. Landry community! We are dedicated to breaking down the barriers of traditional banking and providing St. Landry schools and our members with free financial wellness,” said Pelican State CU CEO Jeffrey K. Conrad.
Pelican invites all St. Landry Parish residents to take advantage of the competitive, safe products and services that Pelican offers. Interested guests can become a member at the workshop or apply for membership at the Pelican State CU branch in Opelousas.
