First Capital FCU donates to The American Heart Association!

First Capital Federal Credit Union’s President/CEO, Sue DeStephano and Community Engagement Officer, Lisa Barshinger, presented a check for $500.00 to the American Heart Association’s Senior Division Director, Wade Markel.

The money was raised through our First Cap Gives Back program.  As part of the program, we select four charities to support, one each quarter.  And, the American Heart Association was chosen as the 1st Quarter charity.  To raise money, staff sold paper hearts for $1.00 each and paid $5.00 to wear jeans on a specific day.  Those efforts raised $500.00 in addition to the money we gave to sponsor a table at the Go Red for Women luncheon and the Heart and Stroke Ball.  In all, First Capital donated $2,500.00 to The American Heart Association.

“Thank you to the whole First Capital FCU team for this generous gift,” said Wade Markel.  “We're honored to be the recipient of your fundraising.”

For 2nd Quarter we are focusing our fundraising efforts on The Salvation Army of York.
