SafeAmerica Credit Union teamed up with many local businesses on Saturday, April 14, 2018 in an effort to raise money for Myles Molnar, a local high school athlete who was involved in a freak accident one year ago leaving him paralyzed from the chest down.
At age 15, Myles broke his neck while wrestling leaving him wheelchair bound. Now at 16 years old, he is getting his license and needs a car fitted for someone in his condition. Additionally, the Molnar family needs his bathroom fitted with a special kind of shower so that he can independently take care of himself.
“When a friend in the press told me the story about Myles, we knew we had to help the family here in the local community. People helping people. This is where it starts.” said Steven Page, Vice President of Marketing and Digital Banking at SafeAmerica Credit Union. “I started reading more about Myles tremendous courage and strength. His inspiring attitude is something we can all learn from. ”, said Page.
The event to raise money for Myles and his family took place at Omni Fight Club in Pleasanton, where local businesses joined the effort and helped raise more than $35,000 for Myles and his family.
