Bay Federal Credit Union’s Bay Fit team won the Credit Union SacTown Run 5-kilometer Team Challenge in Sacramento, which saw 2,000 runners at the Capitola Mall, on Sunday, April 8.
Lucilla Sierra, Joey Coffman, and Jason Stidham joined forces for a time of 1:22:04 to take the 2018 Credit Union 5k Team title.
The team raised almost $600 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In total, the Credit Union SacTown Run generated more than $230,000 for CMN this year. Bay Federal also raises money for its local CMN hospital group, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospitals, in May each year.
Stidham, a Capitola resident, was 84th overall (24:57) and 13th in the men’s 35-39 age division. Coffman, who also lives in Capitola, was 178th overall (28:15) and 19th in the men’s 25-29 age division. Sierra, who is from Santa Cruz, was 203 overall (28:53) and 10th in the women’s 35-39 age division. Also representing Bay Federal in fundraising and in the 5k field was Shaylene Schmidt, who lives in Santa Cruz. She placed 193rd overall and 7th in the women’s 20-24 age division.
