American Heritage Credit Union presented a $2,500 donation to Robin M. Robinson, Bucks County Recorder of Deeds, to support Abington-Jefferson Safe Harbor on Friday, April 20. Dorian Smith, American Heritage’s Vice President of Business Development, and Mike Webster, American Heritage New Britain Branch Manager, were on hand to present the donation to Robinson.
The Safe Harbor Program provides ongoing grief support groups for children, teens and their parents or caregivers. The program offers many support sessions including children and teen groups for ages four to 18, a young adult group for ages 19 to 29, parent/caregivers groups, as well as a "Moving On" group. Robin stated that she and her two children benefited from the services of Safe Harbor during the loss of her husband and that the groups were vital in dealing with their grief. Since that time, Robinson now volunteers at the program's week-long day camp, Camp Charlie, for bereaved children six through 12 at Abington Health Center in Willow Grove, PA.
“American Heritage is continually finding new ways to help the communities we serve,” states Dorian Smith. “Providing needed resources for young children, young adults and their families are a passion of ours at American Heritage. We are excited to be apart of Safe Harbor’s support.”
