In observance of Public Service Recognition Week (May 6-12, 2018), Pennsylvania’s largest credit union, PSECU, will offer complimentary coffee drinks in Harrisburg and State College on May 8. Public service employees, as well as the general community, are invited to partake.
“Those who serve in federal, state, county, and local government are continually working to make our lives safer, healthier, stronger, and better all around. We at PSECU are thankful for all they do for our more than 430,000 members and the greater Pennsylvania community,” said PSECU President Greg Smith. “We invite everyone – whether they work in public service or not – to join us in celebrating Public Service Recognition Week with a free coffee drink.”
On Tuesday, May 8, from 6:45-9 a.m. at Little Amps’s Strawberry Square Kiosk and Downtown (State Street) Harrisburg locations, and from 7-9 a.m. at Duck Donuts State College, customers who order select 12-ounce coffee drinks will receive their beverages for free, courtesy of PSECU, as a gesture of appreciation to all those who work in the public service sector.
At a similar Public Service Recognition Week event held last year at Little Amps’s Strawberry Square location, PSECU provided nearly 300 people with complimentary drinks during the promotional period. This year’s promotion will feature a second Harrisburg location and has been extended to include State College.
“More than 80 years ago, PSECU was founded by 22 state employees who pooled $90 in an effort to create a financial institution where collective resources benefit all members. Since then, we’ve extended our field of membership beyond state employees and their families to include government units throughout the commonwealth, so now the majority of public service employees can join and take advantage of the benefits we offer, too,” explained Smith. “Other groups in our field of membership include students, alumni, faculty, and staff of all schools in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education, as well as many community colleges and private educational institutions, and around 1,500 Pennsylvania organizations and businesses that offer PSECU membership as an employee benefit. With so many membership possibilities, you’re likely eligible to join PSECU, even if you don’t know it.”
