Security Service Federal Credit Union enrolled more than 1,600 military members during military saves week

Security Service Federal Credit Union welcomed 1,673 military members to the Military Saves initiative during the Defense Credit Union Council’s (DCUC) annual campaign.  Military Saves, a component of the nonprofit America Saves and a partner in the Department of Defense’s Financial Readiness campaign, seeks to motivate, support, and encourage military families to save money, reduce debt, and build wealth.

“We are honored to begin working with these 1,673 military members,” said Fred Salyers, vice president of governmental and military affairs for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Security Service began as a credit union that was dedicated to serving members of the United States Armed Forces, and while our membership base has expanded significantly over the past 50-plus years, our dedication to members of the military will never subside. They provide us with a secure country and we will help provide them with a secure financial future.”

Military Saves and Security Service encourage all service members to save a portion of each paycheck, develop a personal financial plan and establish good credit. Security Service’s free EverFi Financial Literacy Program is available at www.ssfcu.org.
