The Elevations Foundation awarded an all-time high of $84,000 in scholarships to 33 local students at its annual Celebration of Community last night at Fiske Planetarium. The scholarship recipients are 2018 graduates of Adams 12, Boulder Valley, Colorado Early Colleges, Jefferson County, Poudre, St. Vrain Valley and Thompson School
Districts.
The Elevations Foundation scholarship initiative has provided over $349,000 in scholarships for higher education during its first eight years. Award criteria are, in part, needs-based. Since 2010, Elevations Foundation has provided opportunities for a better community and awarded over $1.2 million in critical funding for scholarships and community grants.
In addition to the scholarship ceremony, the Foundation also announced Phil Ferrante-Roseberry as Elevations Foundation’s first Executive Director. Ferrante-Roseberry brings more than 23 years of experience in the nonprofit sector to the charitable arm of Elevations Credit Union.
“Phil will help take Elevations Foundation to the next level,” said Scott Dunn, chair of the Elevations Foundation board of directors. “We are very excited for him join us.”
A longtime resident of Boulder County, Ferrante-Roseberry most recently served as Executive Vice President of Strategic Development at TechSoup, a San Francisco-based nonprofit that empowers the global civil society with technology to address a world full of challenges. He has also served on the board with NTEN, the trade association of U.S. nonprofit technology professionals, and ChangeLab Solutions, which develops innovative laws and policies to ensure everyday health for all.
"Elevations Credit Union has always put an emphasis on the importance of making a positive contribution to the local community, and the Elevations Foundation is a key avenue for accomplishing these pursuits,” said Ferrante-Roseberry. “I am excited to be a part of the Elevations Foundation team and support expanding and strengthening our involvement with the local community.”
