On Tuesday, May 29, 2018, First Capital Federal Credit Union’s President/CEO Sue DeStephano and Community Engagement Officer, Lisa Barshinger, presented a check for $550.00 to the Salvation Army of York’s Major Dennis Camuti, Corps Officer & Area Coordinator.
The money was raised through our First Cap Gives Back program. For 2018, we selected four charities to support, one per quarter. And, the Salvation Army of York was chosen as the 2nd Quarter charity. To raise money, staff sold peanut butter and coconut Easter eggs to members at all of our branches, employees paid $5.00 to wear jeans on a specific day, and we sponsored a table at the Boots and Bags event. In all, First Capital donated $1,800 to the Salvation Army of York, $550 of which was presented Tuesday as the remainder of our donation.
For 3rd Quarter we will focus our fundraising efforts on the United Way of York County and for 4th Quarter, Leg Up Farm.
