New LAPFCU-sponsored blood pressure monitors help officers and staff protect their health

Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union (LAPFCU) has sponsored the deployment of Blood Pressure Monitors to promote self-care among sworn law enforcement officers and civilian staff.

This initiative was developed by the Los Angeles Police Department Risk Management Division to promote wellness for law enforcement personnel. When the Division put out the call for support, LAPFCU responded immediately.

LAPFCU’s contribution went toward the purchase of five blood pressure machines to be placed in high profile locations. In 2017, it donated over $200,000 to programs that support law enforcement and their families. This sponsorship of blood pressure machines is the latest example of their ongoing commitment.

“Law enforcement officers of the LAPD, and their staff, have highly stressful jobs and responsibilities,” says Natalie Nahas, Supervisor of Business Development at LAPFCU. These monitors help make self-care easier for everyone, and we wanted to give back to law enforcement for the personal sacrifices they make. We’re already hearing reports of officers and staff who have discovered health issues, and are taking steps to improve their health. Sponsoring these machines is something that we are proud and happy to do.”
