Connex Credit Union announces the charitable groups benefiting from its Coins-for-Change program July 1 through Sept 30, 2018. This unique fundraising initiative raises funds and donates 100 percent of the modest fee charged by Connex to use its coin-cashing machines directly to the organizations. More than $10,000 is donated to local non-profits through Coins-for-Change every year.
From now through September 30, 2018 members and non-members can bring spare change to cash at:
- Connex’s Guilford Branch located at 849 Boston Post Road to donate to Alzheimer’s Association – CT Chapter
- Connex’s Hamden Branch located at 2100 Dixwell Ave. to donate to American Nedicine Association
- Connex’s Meriden Branch located at 533 S. Broad St. (Townline Square) to donate to Wildlife in Crisis
- Connex’s North Haven Branch located at 412 Washington Ave. to donate to the The Connection
- Alzheimer’s Association – CT Chapter: Is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. Our mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Funds raised will support the Connecticut chapter with these efforts.
- American Nedicine Association: Enhances the health of our nation through Nedicine or nedical (natural) care and teaches people how to make smart healthy decisions about their food and health. Funds raised will go towards improving the health of underserved urban communities in Connecticut.
- Wildlife in Crisis: Is a volunteer-run non-profit that rescues injured and orphaned wildlife and seeks to protect threatened ecosystems. Funds raised will help with habitat protection, wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education programs that improve the quality of life in the community.
- The Connection: Is a private, nonprofit human service and community development agency. Each month thousands of people throughout Connecticut are assisted by The Connection’s diverse behavioral health, family support and community justice programs. Fundraising efforts will help provide quality services to assist those who need it most.
