Mike Gallagher, veteran marketing director of State National Companies in Bedford, TX has retired after over seventeen years with the company.
State National has approximately 600 credit union clients, with over 400 employees, providing collateral protection programs and insurance tracking for over 6 million loans.
Gallagher noted: “It’s been gratifying career; I like to think I played a key role in State National’s growth. Our Program Services division and its fronting services, really took off.
“And our CPI programs have, too. When I started, we had about 100 employees and 100 clients. Loans tracked weren’t much more than one million and premium was a quarter of what it is now.”
He added: “For a marketing guy, running the messaging gamut was a great experience. When I started, we were hardly known, always nipping at the heels of the bigger CPI players. Over the years, State National became the big guy; we were the ones being chased. My RFP questions for CPI became the de facto standard for the industry. That was cool.”
Asked his plans now, Gallagher responded:
“My wife and I are building a new home, there are a lot of great books I need to get through, and I’ll be blogging, and consulting a little, on the side. I’ll be busy.”
