The Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will co-host the inaugural Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration and Open House with the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce at Integrity Auto Collision Center on Thursday September 13th, 2018.
“We are excited to partner with the Fairfield Suisun Chamber to make our Joint mixer a Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, where attendees will be able to experience a little bit of our culture through traditional dances, music and food. As we recognize the contributions of Hispanics and Latinos to the United States during the National Hispanic Heritage Month, at the national level, it's important to ensure we celebrate in our local communities.” Citlalli Flores Zepeda, president of the Solano Hispanic Chamber, said in a statement.
The event will be hosted by Integrity Auto Collision Center Inc. of Fairfield, which is also celebrating its 6th anniversary. It will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at 1891 Woolner Ave., Suite C. You don't have to be member of either chamber to attend and there will be no fee to enter.
National Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized from Sept. 15 to Oct. 14 due to several Latin American countries celebrating their independence days during that period (Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico, Chile and Belize). According to the official National Hispanic Heritage Month website, the month pays tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our nation and society.
The celebration will include Latin American food catered by local restaurants, and cultural dance performances by Grupo Juvenil Danzantes Unidos de Vacaville. There will be raffle tickets for sale and attendees are encouraged to bring raffle prizes if they want to promote their business during the event.
Local nonprofits and new members of both Chambers will share information on resources they offer.
