Capital Credit Union pledges over $22,000 to United Way

Capital Credit Union and its employees recently pledged more than $22,000 to Missouri Slope Areawide United Way and United Way of Cass-Clay.

Each year, Capital Credit Union hosts an internal United Way campaign, giving employees the opportunity to donate. This year, the credit union provided a match up to $10,000, which was met by the credit union’s employees, who pledged more than $12,000.

“The effort put forth by our employees each year for our United Way campaign is a great example of how Capital Credit Union serves the people and organizations of our member communities,” says Capital Credit Union President and CEO, Deb Gallagher. “Thank you to our employees, as well as to United Way, for helping to make a positive difference.”

The campaign, which ran September 6 through 14, generated 100% participation from credit union employees. Because participation goals were met, Capital Credit Union is hosting the following events:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 10: four managers  will dress up as Pee Wee Penguin, the credit union youth saver program mascot, and visit Bismarck-area businesses
  • Friday, Oct. 12: eight managers will participate in pie-in-the-face events at the New Salem, Mandan and Bismarck branches
  • Thursday, Oct. 25: East Region Vice President of Member Services Jim Schaefbauer will participate in a pie-in-the-face event and shave his head at the Fargo Branch

The Oct. 12 event, which will take place in the parking lot of each branch, is open to the public.  The New Salem event is at 9 a.m., Mandan at 10:30 a.m. and Bismarck, every hour on the hour, from 12-4 p.m.
