University Credit Union announces selection of new Vice President – Controller

Andres Llanos has been named as University Credit Union’s new vice president – controller effective Monday, Oct. 22, 2018. The executive search was conducted by Credit Union Resources, Inc. for the $200 million dollar credit union.

Previously the director of accounting/controller at Kern Schools Federal Credit Union in Bakersfield, Calif., Llanos was responsible for managing the accounting functions, including processing end-of-month and quarterly transactions. During his leadership at the credit union, Llanos managed a third-party Registered Investment Adviser with a $350 million portfolio and consistently outperformed peers in the credit union’s average investment yields.

Prior to working at Kern Schools, Llanos was the special projects coordinator at Dade County Federal Credit Union in Doral, Fla., where he executed detailed reviews to validate and document the credit union’s process for ensuring quality controls over incentive programs.

With more than 13 years of accounting experience in the credit union industry, Llanos will help University CU continue to provide the best possible financial services to its members. Llanos is recognized in the industry for his background in accounting, operations, fiscal controls, and asset liability management.

Llanos received a master’s in business administration from Keller Graduate School in Miramar, Fla., and a bachelor of science in accounting from DeVry University in Miramar.
