American Heritage Credit Union participated in the Ronald McDonald House’s “Show Your Stripes” Day on October 15, 2018. Employees were given the opportunity to purchase red and white striped socks, red and white scarves, a “Show Your Stripes” t-shirt or “Show Your Stripes” Sock Monkey, with all proceeds supporting the Ronald McDonald House.
Over 250 American Heritage employees participated in the event and bought over 350 “Show Your Stripes” items resulting in more than $4,000 being donated to the Ronald McDonald House. American Heritage and its subsidiaries partner with the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House throughout the year, hosting several guest chef programs annually to cook and provide meals for the families staying at the house.
The Ronald McDonald House provides a “home-away-from-home” at little-to-no cost for families with a hospitalized child. The Ronald McDonald House creates a community of comfort and hope for these families. Since 1974, the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House has expanded from the first seven-bedroom house on Spruce Street to two Houses serving 65 families each night, two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and a weeklong Ronald McDonald Camp.
