The Boys & Girls Club of Westminster, Inc. recently received a grant from First Financial Federal Credit Union for $50,000. The grant supports the Boys & Girls Club’s Power Hour: Making Minutes Count Program, which will drive academic success for the Club’s youth. Specifically, First Financial’s contribution supports a homework assistance program that will help Club members acquire new skills and become more confidentlearners.
The Power Hour: Making Minutes Count Program will be hosted in a homework area – a feature of the Boys & Girls Club’s new facility located at 71 E. Main Street – and adds to the lineup of after-school and summer programs delivered to over 300 Westminster-area children each year. In addition to the homework area, the new club facility also includes a teen center, internet lounge, technology suites, art studio, gymnasium and radio station.
