Mortgage Network employees hit the road for land conservation

Lender marks fourth year as sponsor of annual Tour de Greenbelt cycling event

Fourteen volunteers from Mortgage Network Inc., one of the country's largest independent mortgage lenders, recently took part in the annual Essex County Tour de Greenbelt, a popular New England cycling event held in support of local land preservation. This year's cycling event marked the fourth year in a row that Mortgage Network has served as a lead sponsor of the event.

This year's Tour de Greenbelt was held on September 29 and featured three courses - 25-, 40- and 50-mile loops - that ran through 11 towns and more than 50 historic properties. Money raised through the event benefits Essex County Greenbelt, Essex County's Land Trust that works with local landowners and communities to protect the region's farmland, wildlife habitat and scenic landscapes. Volunteers from Mortgage Network either rode in the tour or distributed refreshments and shouted encouragement from the company's water stop.

"Our employees look forward to the Tour de Greenbelt every year," said Robert McInnes, CEO of Mortgage Network and a cycling enthusiast. "I firmly believe in Greenbelt's mission to improve air and water quality in the region and preserve our local ecosystems for many wildlife and plant species. Each year we've participated in this event, it has been bigger and better than the last."

Based in Danvers, Massachusetts, Mortgage Network provides mortgage banking services in more than 20 states through a wide variety of retail offices built to fit each local market. Mortgage Network is more focused and agile than many larger competitors, which allows the company to provide a high level of service to its customers and its business and referral partners.
