Rangel retires, Ramos joins NACUC Board of Directors

At NACUC’s 42nd Annual Chairmen’s Roundtable Forum held in Louisville, Kentucky, Dr. Luis Ramos was elected to a three-year term on the NACUC Board of Directors. Ramos serves as Chairman of the Board of Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union headquartered in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. Marlene Schwartz, chair of State Department FCU, was reelected to serve another three year term.

Retiring NACUC board member Rose Rangel was recognized for nine years of service. During her tenure, she created the Norma Benson Memorial Scholarship to give modest size credit unions the opportunity to participate in high-level leadership training. NACUC Chair Marty Goldman praised her saying, “Rose tirelessly worked to build a sustainable scholarship program for the volunteer leaders of small credit unions. Naturally, the Board wanted her to continue to be involved in what she created and appointed her to stay on as chair of the scholarship committee.”

The NACUC Board elected the following slate of officers for the 2018-2019 term:
Chairman: Marlene Schwartz, State Department Federal CU, Alexandria, VA Vice Chairman: Peggy Gray, Ascend Federal CU, Tullahoma, TN
Secretary: Marty Goldman, Marine Federal CU, Jacksonville, NC
Treasurer: Jerry Hauck, Rogue Credit Union, Medford, OR
Director: Dr. Luis Ramos, Nutmeg State Financial CU, Rocky Hill, CT
Each of the five NACUC board members is currently serving, or has served, as chairman of their credit union’s board of directors.
