Orange County’s Credit Union in Santa Ana was among those honored at this year’s California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues’ REACH Conference.
The Credit Union received the California Advocate Credit Union of the Year Award during the annual meeting and convention for the Ontario, CA-based trade association for the two states, held Nov. 5-9 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.
Orange County’s Credit Union was recognized for being highly involved with the Leagues’ advocacy efforts, including instilling the value and importance of participating in local, state, and federal government affairs. In addition, the credit union increased its participation in local grassroots advocacy.
“We would like to thank Orange County’s Credit Union for its commitment and leadership in making advocacy a priority,” said Heather DeNecochea, the Leagues’ political advocacy manager.
"Advocacy is an important part of our culture at Orange County's Credit Union. We strive to be the voice of our Members in our communities and in Congress. Our goal is to bring information to elected leaders about the value of credit unions and the incredible impact we have on the financial well-being of the communities we serve," said Shruti Miyashiro, president and CEO, Orange County's Credit Union.
