John Cotter, Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s facilities manager, was honored with the Cushman Award at the credit union’s annual appreciation dinner on Saturday, November 17th.
“The Cushman Award goes to a staff member who best embodies the ideals of Hanscom FCU,” said Paul Marotta, Hanscom FCU’s Chairman of the Board. “Since John’s arrival at the credit union, we’ve heard nothing but glowing approval for his work ethic and skill at keeping our Operations Center, Main Office, and Branches in tip-top shape. He’s here many days at 6 a.m. and doesn’t leave until 8 p.m. because he’s determined to accomplish what needs to be done.”
Cotter is a relatively new credit union employee, having joined Hanscom FCU in March 2018. Since his hiring, his professionalism and dedication have been noted and remarked upon through the credit union’s quarterly ESP Award voting, where employees nominate fellow employees for their outstanding service. One voter wrote, “He is always a pleasure to work with. He does laps around this building with a smile, keeping the facility in great shape.” Another employee wrote, “John is such an asset to our team. I’m so glad he’s here.”
The Cushman Award is named for long-time board member John Cushman, whose unwavering focus on our members’ well-being still impacts credit union employees. “The winner of the Cushman Award is chosen by employees,” said Marotta. “In the short amount of time he’s been there, John Cotter has made a significant impact on our people that’s commendable. It’s a well-deserved award this year.”
