Los Alamitos- based Southland Credit Union donated funds to help Fullerton Hills Softball’s 12U Gold All-Star Team make the journey to nationals.
The North Orange County softball league’s team was the finalist at the Southern California Central B Districts Tournament and qualified for the Western National Championships when it finished in 7th place at the 2019 Southern California B State Championships. The national tournament will be held in Medford, Oregon from July 29 through August 4.
The donation will directly help the team with transportation, lodging and food. Southland is proud to sponsor a local sports program that empowers young women and teaches them team-building as well as leadership skills.
Southland is also the Official Credit Union of Long Beach State Athletics, supporting college athletes and providing them with the tools they need to have the financial future they deserve.
It’s the Credit Union’s goal to continue supporting local non-profit organizations like Fullerton Hills Softball, which is the reason why SCU Gives Back was launched.
