Texas Trust Credit Union has hit the milestone of $2 million in cash rewards formembers who use its Bonus Checking account.
The credit union has rewarded more than 32,000 members with monthly bonuses since the inception of the account in 2015.
Members can earn up to $20 a month based on their financial service usage. The average Bonus Checking account holder earns $8 in bonuses each month. In addition, account holders also receive special free perks such as identity theft protection, credit monitoring, cell phone protection, and a debit reward card.
“My wife and I use our bonuses to give to our children’s grandparents, so they can take them to get ice cream or do something fun,” said Philip Melugin, a six-year member of Texas Trust. “We also like the ID protection feature. It allows us to monitor the credit of everyone in the family, including our children, so we can stop any suspicious activity before it creates a legal headache.”
“We love this account because we get a monthly cash bonus for using Texas Trust for our banking needs,” said David Pickney, Texas Trust member since 2010. “We also like the free ID Protection, which constantly monitors our credit report. We are alerted if one of the credit bureaus reports new credit activity, so we can immediately take action if it is suspicious”
“The Bonus Checking account allows us to give something back to our members to thank them for being loyal to us,” said Jim Minge, president and CEO of Texas Trust Credit Union. “We know they have lots of choices about where to bank, and we always appreciate that they choose us.”
