Unitus releases schedule for ‘Dream Come True’ matches at Providence Park

Unitus teams up with Portland Timbers and Thorns FC to host children with serious illness and their families to unforgettable experiences this season

The schedule is out, and it has begun. In partnership with the Portland Timbers and Thorns FC, Unitus is hosting special young children to incredible experiences at soccer matches.

The Dream Come True program gives a child battling illness, along with their family, a one-of-a- kind experience to cherish together. Special moments include VIP treatment before and during the game, pre-game recognition on the video wall, meeting and hanging out with the professional players, and a personalized game jersey to bring home as a memento.

A child will experience Dream Come True at each of these matches:

  • Saturday, August 3 (Thorns FC vs. Sky Blue FC)
  • Saturday, August 10 (Timbers vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC)
  • Friday, August 23 (Timbers vs. the Sounders!)
  • Sunday, August 25 (Thorns FC vs. Chicago Red Stars)
  • Wednesday, September 11 (Thorns FC vs. North Carolina Courage)
  • Wednesday, September 18 (Timbers vs. NY Red Bulls)

The program earned the “Best Overall Performance” award from Learfield Communications in 2016, its debut season, then with the Oregon State Beavers Football team. Since starting, Dream Come True has given more than 20 young children an unforgettable experience.

“The purpose of this partnership is to reach out a hand to these bright, courageous children in our communities” said Steve Stapp, Unitus President/CEO. “As a Portland institution, it is not only our responsibility but our privilege to be able to create a positive community impact like this.”
