The United Service Organization, better known as the USO, is a military support organization which goes to great lengths to continually support military service members and their families. USO Delaware currently has two locations on Dover Air Force Base and is the only USO Chapter in the country which supports the dignified transfers of service members who have fallen in the line of duty. This amazing non-profit offers multiple programs, including those for emotional wellness, entertainment, holiday celebrations, and transitional services for those on base and throughout the state. Equipped with a fully stocked snack and drink lounge, computers, and a theater, the USO provides a home away from home for service members, and truly embodies the spirit of being the “force behind the force.”
Dover Federal Credit Union was originally founded on Dover Air Force Base in 1958 and has been committed to supporting the communities that they serve for over 60 years. Holding a long standing relationship, Dover Federal and the USO continue to strive to support service members and their families. In the month of August, Dover Federal presented USO Delaware with a $1,500 check to help them continue their mission. These funds were collected from Dover FCU team members who generously donated and were then matched by the credit union.
Dover Federal Credit Union currently has seven locations throughout the state and is projected to open an eighth in Camden, Delaware in 2020.
