American Eagle Financial Credit Union, Connecticut’s largest community-focused credit union, will host a First-Time Home Buyer Expo on Tuesday, October 22, from 6-9 p.m., at Goodwin College’s Main Auditorium located at One Riverside Drive in East Hartford.
The American Eagle First-Time Home Buyer Expo is free and open to the public.
Attendees will meet local industry professionals in an open setting who will share their knowledge and experience as well as answer questions about purchasing a first home.
“Buying a first home is exciting. It can also be stressful and confusing. Our First-Time Home Buyer Expo was created to provide valuable and comprehensive information to prospective homebuyers in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere,” said Dean Marchessault, American Eagle Financial Credit Union President and Chief Executive Officer.
Attendees to the American Eagle Financial Credit Union First-Time Home Buyer Expo will learn about:
- The key steps of the home-buying process
- The importance of getting prequalified for a mortgage
- The importance of having a realtor
- The importance of having an attorney
- The importance of having a home inspection
- The importance of having an insurance agent and home insurance.
The First-Time Home Buyer agenda for participants is as follows:
- 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m: Expo tables open. (Enter at each expo table for a chance to win a door prize.) Speak with industry experts in loan origination, real estate, law, insurance, home appraisal, home inspection, and financial planning.
- 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m: Listen and ask questions during an interactive panel discussion with industry experts.
- 8:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m: Door prize drawings.
- 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m: Expo tables open for further conversation with industry experts.
