Hanscom Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that Paul Marotta, Chairman Emeritus, was awarded the 2019 Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) Hall of Fame award in recognition of his 43 years of service to Hanscom FCU. The honor was presented at the CCUA Awards of Excellence at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut on October 17, 2019.
“Paul Marotta has dedicated more than just his career to the credit union industry; his life’s passion is to help people,” said Ray Phillips, Hanscom FCU’s Chairman of the Board.
Over the course of his service to the credit union, Mr. Marotta has guided Hanscom FCU through numerous changes, from the buildup of technology, unprecedented member growth, economic shifts, and some of the greatest legislative challenges the credit union movement has seen. Under his leadership, Hanscom FCU has grown from $140 million in assets, four branches, and 15,000 members to $1.4 billion in assets, 22 branches, and 91,000 members.
Mr. Marotta has served the credit union industry far beyond his work with Hanscom FCU. He is an avid supporter of Boston Children’s Hospital, the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, as well as numerous outreach efforts that enrich local and military communities.
David Sprague, Hanscom FCU’s President and CEO, remarked, “Paul has been a leading force in the credit union community for 43 years, and it's gratifying to see him honored by the CCUA for the lifetime of volunteer service he's given to our members.”
