Global Credit Union partners with KXLY4News, Disney ABC and First Book to distribute 500 books to the South Pines Elementary Students through the Annual Magic of Storytelling campaign.
The Annual Magic of Storytelling is a national campaign created to provide new Disney books to students enrolled in Title 1 schools and literacy programs in lower income districts. Global is proud to have sponsored the distribution of 500 books, which come at no cost to the students.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions and school closures, South Pines Elementary staff decided to put their heads together and develop a plan to safely distribute books via a drive-up distribution process. Through rain and shine, South Pines staff and Global Credit Union representatives greeted hundreds of students with smiles, encouragement and free literature.
“It is up to us to ensure that our students are receiving the necessary tools to thrive,” said Katrina Melnyk, GlobalSouthValley Branch Manager. “We were so thrilled to participate in the Magic of Storytelling campaign for yet another year. It was such a joy to spend time assisting with the book distribution process.”
