In a socially distanced interview between Ken Cahoon, Democracy FCU CEO/President and CU Broadcast Talk Show Host, Mike Lawson, they discussed the credit union’s ‘COVID-19 Community Give Back Program’ that Democracy FCU has put into place since the global pandemic began.
“We wanted to tell our story to the community to let them know that we are here for them,” said Cahoon. “Especially during these difficult times.”

At the time of the interview, Democracy FCU stepped up to serve its community by
- Donating 1,200 face masks to area hospitals
- $1,500 to area food banks that provide three meals a day to students
- Hosting a virtual prom for area high schools
And introduced three financial programs to benefit its members with a
- CASH-N-GO advance loan of up to $1,000 with no credit check
- National Event Short Term Loan with funds up to $3,000 with no credit check or up to $6,000 with a credit check, and
- Skip-A-Pay to alleviate one month of auto and/or personal loan payments with no fees
