The League of Southeastern Credit Unions and Affiliates will hold a groundbreaking Virtual Idea Institute, Sept. 21-22, offering dynamic presentations on current issues affecting credit unions in today’s challenging environment. The two-day conference is filled with information credit unions can apply to their organizations with six lively sessions presented by credit union industry executives and insiders. The budget-friendly event also includes networking opportunities for credit unions.
“Because we focus on bringing the most innovative ideas to credit unions, Idea Institute is vastly different from typical conferences with presenters who think out of the box and encourage others to do the same,” said Jared Ross, president of the LSCU. “Idea Institute breaks the mold regarding the typical virtual experience and is packed with chances to network with other attendees, sponsors, and speakers. From chats to online connections to virtual meals together and even cocktails with Bingo, this event allows for connections all along the way.”
Credit union industry insiders will address hot topics from economic trends to digital transformation in the middle of a pandemic to strategies to create member solutions for the future. Idea Institute Virtual Experience features seasoned experts, including:
- Josh Cook, president/CEO of Community Choice Credit Union in Iowa - addressing hot topics from economic trends to digital transformation in the middle of a pandemic to strategies to create member solutions for the future.
- April Clobes, CEO of $5.3 billion Michigan State University Federal Credit Union- speaking about how her credit union has formalized the innovation process across their organization from pilot programs to full-scale strategic projects.
- Paul Blackstone, COO, 121 Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla. – a mythbuster offering a virtual experience that allows credit union professionals to question, collaborate and explore possibilities.
- Joint presenters Mark Caverly, president of Local Government Federal Credit Union in North Carolina, and Dwayne Naylor, president of Civic Federal Credit Union in North Carolina - discussing their journey to find creative solutions to difficult challenges and serve members in powerful new ways.
Because the fall event, originally scheduled to be held in Jekyll Island, Ga., has gone virtual, even more credit union executives, young professional leaders and board members can attend. Attendees will enjoy a virtual lunch roundtable dialogue of credit union current issues, virtual breakfast opportunity to hear about how the pandemic has impacted the mortgage market, virtual cocktail party with a chance to win prizes and virtual lunch featuring discussion on the impact the pandemic has had on wellness and mental health.
“I can attest that this meeting format is amazing,” said Brian Akin, longtime attendee and chairman of the board of LSCU & Affiliates. “We hear cutting-edge ideas from credit union executives and those within our industry. It is very inspiring, and I always walk away with a list of great ideas. Idea Institute Virtual Experience is tailor-made for CEOs, C-Suite, leadership, volunteers and young professionals.
The cost of the event is $149. Learn more about the Idea Institute Virtual Experience.
