Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union (MSGCU) is pleased to announce a new branch coming to Macomb Township in early 2021. Located at the intersection of 26 Mile and Romeo Plank, this will be MSGCU’s 16th branch.
“We are extremely pleased to expand our presence in Macomb County to offer more accessibility and convenience to our members that live and work in this growing area,” said MSGCU President/CEO Peter Gates.
The Macomb Township branch office will feature drive-thru service and a 24/7 drive-up ATM. It joins nine other branches located in Macomb County and fifteen branches spanning the tri-county area including Oakland and Wayne. The branch is expected to open in early 2021. The new branch is just one way the credit union is showing its commitment to enhancing their members’ experience. Earlier this year, the credit union launched a new online banking site and mobile app, and will soon be launching text messaging for member communication.
MSGCU launched an upgraded online and mobile banking platform to provide new features and an enhanced experience for members banking from their home and mobile device. New features include the ability to make person-to-person payments, categorize expenses for better budgeting, and quickly disable a lost or compromised card.
The new mobile app and online banking site proved to be critical for safe and contactless banking during the COVID-19 pandemic. Designed to be consistent across any device, members can easily pay bills, track spending, transfer money between accounts, pay loans, deposit a check and much more from the comfort and safety of home. After only launching in March, more than 70,000 members are now using the new banking platform and the mobile app has a 4.8 rating on the Apple App Store and a rating of 4.4 on Google Play.
“Our new mobile app and online banking are great opportunities for our members. These convenient and user-friendly tools come with more features to help members manage their money and continue on the path to financial success. We are focused on delivering an exceptional experience with our friendly service in branch, by phone and digitally,” said MSGCU Chief Retail Officer, Deborah Fahrney.
The new branch office and enhanced banking experience complements the many helpful products and services offered at the credit union. For more information, call 586.263.8800, come into a branch, or visit msgcu.org.
