Education Credit Union Council announces Board changes

The Education Credit Union Council (ECUC) announced recent changes to the board of directors.  The board accepted the resignation of Connie Roy and has appointed Tom Anonson of Class Act Federal Credit Union to fill the board vacancy.

Connie Roy, Meritus Credit Union’s President/CEO, announced her retirement effective in September after 32 years of service to the credit union.  Connie was elected to the ECUC Board in 2018 after being active in the national community of education credit unions for many years.  Connie’s service and contributions to education credit unions over her long tenure are celebrated with appreciation and gratitude, and with best wishes for her retirement.

Incoming board member Tom Anonson has been with Class Act Federal Credit Union for 25 years and currently serves as the Executive Vice President.  Tom currently serves on the Executive Committee and Guiding Team for the Academies at Jefferson County Public Schools, the Business and Education Alignment Taskforce and the Finance Validation Panel for the Kentucky Department of Education where he spearheaded the project to implement CUNA learning modules inside of Kentucky schools as accepted industry certifications used towards student graduation.  Finally, Tom is on the Southern Regional Education Board where he works on recommendations for joining the business community with work-ready students.  He has a passion for education and for credit unions.Tom has been active with ECUC for many years along with the support of Class Act Federal Credit Union, a long-standing member of the Council.

Anonson brings vast experience to the ECUC Board lead by President Daniel Berry, President/CEO of Duke Federal Credit Union; Vice President Walton Greene, Chairman of California Federal Credit Union; TreasurerJoanne Todd, President/CEO of Northeast Family Federal Credit Union; Secretary Linda Hoover, President/CEO of Educators Credit Union; Gerald Baird, Director at Mainstreet Credit Union; and Jody Dabrowski, President/CEO of Illinois Educators Credit Union.  Tom Anonson will serve as an appointed board member until the next election.
