This year, the Global Women’s Leadership Network (GWLN) is hosting its first virtual Executive Readiness Summit on October 28-30, seeking to find “The Power of I Am.”
The Summit aims to engage thought leaders and industry experts with attendees in 10 sessions over two and a half days. Presenters Jill Nowacki, CEO, Humanidei & O’Rourke, Lisa Hayes, CEO, Through-The-Hayes and Sandra McDowell, Founder of eLeadership Academy™ will focus on values in the workplace as drivers for success, executive presence and building your personal resilience.
Industry partners will share expertise on personal and financial wellness, leadership skills needed during the COVID-19 pandemic, making a strategic impact and how to claim “The Power of I Am.”
The business case for women in the workforce and overall diversity, equity and inclusion is stronger than ever. The recently released Women in the Workplace 2020 study, by Leanin.org and McKinsey & Company, found that the progress that’s been made in terms of placing more women in leadership roles over the past six years could be erased.
In the credit union industry, women often start working for credit unions in lower-level roles and in departments that do not lead directly to the executive suite. The Executive Readiness Summit was initially born to address the challenge in identifying women to join the pipeline for open C-suite positions. It was an in-person event focused only on a US audience. This year’s virtual platform provides the opportunity for GWLN members and Sister Society leaders outside the US to participate as well.
Women make up 39% of global employment but account for 54% of overall job losses, as of May 2020. The Summit seeks to address the skills women need in their toolkits for professional and personal empowerment, redefined parameters of individual productivity, wellness and embracing the new reality.
