National Credit Union Administration Board Member Rodney E. Hood spoke today before the audience of the Credit Union National Association’s 2022 Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C. During his speech, Board Member Hood highlighted the significance of the financial services model moving from a retail delivery model to a digital delivery platform, which was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. He also called on the industry to proactively work to integrate fintech technologies as a strategic imperative to remain competitive. He also said that fintech will be a force-multiplier by extending financial inclusion where it is needed most. Board Member Hood also discussed the credit union system’s resiliency during the COVID-19 pandemic and the new opportunities for lending resulting from the 2021 credit union service organization rule.
