WHAT: America’s VetDogs, House Financial Services Committee Ranking Member, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), and House Financial Services Committee Vice-Chair Congressman Jake Auchincloss (MA-04) will host a press conference introducing H.R. 5232, the Working Dog Commemorative Coin Act on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the U.S. House of Representatives Rayburn Foyer.

With a goal to have this coin in production in 2023, this bipartisan bill will instruct the U.S. Mint to develop a commemorative coin series honoring the critical role working dogs play in our society. A portion of the proceeds from the commemorative coin series will be donated to America’s VetDogs to continue their mission of providing highly trained service dogs to veterans and first responders with disabilities, at no cost to the individual.

America’s VetDogs is a national not-for-profit organization that serves the needs of veterans with disabilities from all eras who have honorably served our country. It costs more than $50,000 to breed, raise, train, and place one service dog; however, there is never a charge to the veteran. All funding comes from the generous contributions of individuals, corporations, foundations, businesses, and service clubs. To learn more about America’s VetDogs, visit VetDogs.org.

WHEN: Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
