People First Federal Credit Union’s (PFFCU) President/CEO, Howie Meller, was named to the 2022 Lehigh Valley Business Power 100 List for the second year in a row.
This honor is awarded to those individuals who shape the communities and influence the quality of life in the Lehigh Valley Region of PA. Meller is recognized for impacting the local economy and making a difference.
Meller has significantly increased People First’s community involvement and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with an annual partnership with Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center and Susan G. Komen and the United Way. Under his leadership, the credit union also raised money for Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley and Tails of Valor, Paws of Honor, Inc., the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, Camelot for Children, KidsPeace, the Literary Center, and Community Bike Works.
When asked about being recognized, Meller stated, “I’m proud to be part of a community that comes together to support organizations that are putting their boots on the ground to help those who need it most.”
Meller has invested in the revitalization of Downtown Allentown, the third-largest city in Pennsylvania. People First moved its corporate offices to downtown Allentown in January 2022, bringing its employees closer to the community. “Moving a corporate headquarters is important. It demonstrates a strong, long-term commitment. We relocated our headquarters and 90 jobs to downtown Allentown. The move will help keep the development momentum going downtown while giving us more visibility in the region’s center of commerce.” stated Meller
