Compass Community Credit Union encourages youth to save

During the month of April, Compass Community Credit Union celebrated National Youth Month. The campaign was designed to develop strong saving habits for children and teens. Compass is committed to helping teach sound financial responsibilities.

We encourage members to save for opportunities, rather than emergencies. This will promote solid financial decision making, rather than impulse purchases. Having a financial plan will guide saving for the future and put our young members in a healthy position.

“We want to promote saving as a habit, not an afterthought,” said Compass Community Credit Union CEO, Ray Litchfield. “During the month, we offered an incentive to encourage our younger members to see the importance of putting money aside. It’s never too early to start saving for the future and if you can create that habit at a young age, it will help create a healthy, financial outlook.”

Compass Community Credit Union serves members in Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works or worships in these three counties. For over 71 years, Compass Community Credit Union has been offering financial solutions to members. For more information, visit Compassccu.org.
