Blue Eagle Credit Union announced ten recipients of their Alexander Scholarship. Each recipient will receive $1,000 toward their higher education expenses and were honored during the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber’s Showcase event held at the Salem Red Sox on Friday, May 20.
“Advancing your education often comes with a hefty price tag. This high price tag, coupled with the financial strains of the last couple of years, makes it even more challenging for students and their families. The impact is certainly felt and has a ripple effect. Offering $10,000 in scholarships each year is one way we can help ease some of that burden and help our members, as we like to say, Pay Less. Earn More. Have Fun.,” shares Jeff Thompson, CEO of Blue Eagle Credit Union.
The Alexander Scholarship was established more than two decades ago and has paid out hundreds of thousands of dollars to students. Another unique aspect of this scholarship is that it’s not just for graduating high school seniors. It offers an opportunity for those attending a trade school or students already in college seeking a degree at any level.
Congratulations to the 2022 Alexander Scholarship recipients! They are:
