Empower Federal Credit Union awards scholarships to members

Empower Federal Credit Union has awarded $10,000 in college scholarships to ten high school seniors to help finance their college education.

The students were chosen based on their outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements.

“We are very pleased to award these scholarships to our hard-working young members,” said Mary Wilson, Vice President of Communications. “It proves that the ‘people helping people’ philosophy of the credit union movement is alive and well here in our community”

The high school seniors who received the awards were:

Syanna Briere, Onondaga Jr/Sr High School – will be attending Rochester Institute of Technology
Evan Caroccio, Mexico High School – will be attending St. Bonaventure University
Cameron Daddabbo, Auburn High School – will be attending University of Rochester
Jake Hunter, Liverpool High School – will be attending SUNY Binghamton
Brian Kenny, Westhill High School – will be attending SUNY Geneseo
Matthew Metrick, Cicero High School – undecided
Colleen Patrie, Westhill High School – will be attending SUNY Cortland
Emma Roseboom, Marcellus High School – will be attending James Madison University
Michelle Sacco, Liverpool High School – will be attending Le Moyne College
Jake Socker, Liverpool High School – will be attending Syracuse University
