Lawrenceville, GA (September 13, 2022) – The Peach State FCU C.A.R.E.S. Foundation is excited to announce a recent commitment of $5,000 to students participating in Stephens County School System’s REACH Scholarship Program over the next five years. The REACH program will receive $1,000 each year through 2026 from the credit union.
REACH Georgia is a mentorship and scholarship program that provides students with academic, social, and financial support to graduates from high school and attend college. The mission of the REACH Georgia Foundation is to be the most effective champions for Georgia’s youth in need and to unlock the full potential of the future workforce.
“We are very appreciative of the generous support of Peach State Federal Credit Union,” says Dr. Connie Franklin, Superintendent of the Stephens County School System. “By supporting the Georgia REACH Scholarship program, they are providing an opportunity for Stephens County graduates to attend college and accomplish their career goals. We are grateful for their commitment to public education and to student success.”
Support of the REACH program aligns with Peach State’s foundation in education because of its roots in the education system. Peach State was founded by educators over 60 years ago. “This pledge is two-fold in that it pays homage to the foundation’s continuous support of education, and it recognizes the importance of lifelong learning. A strong education paired with life experiences from mentors is the framework our youth needs to become successful future leaders,” said Peach State’s President/CEO, Marshall Boutwell. “We’re thrilled to help Stephens County students achieve educational and life success through this program. “
