United Federal Credit Union helped raise more than $6,900 for the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County during a September fundraiser.
“We were blown away by the generosity of our Members and our community during this campaign,” said Matt Sorrells, Senior Relationship Development Manager. “This was the first time United took part in an online fundraiser like this. United’s philosophy is “people helping people” and we are proud to live up to those words by helping great organizations in our community like the Boys & Girls Club.”
On September 23, United held an online fundraiser for the Club, pledging to match dollar for dollar up to $2,500 in donations. In the one-day fundraiser, $4,418 was raised. Combined with United’s pledge, the credit union was able to give the Club $6,918.
“Our Club is committed to serving the young people in our community who need us the most, and many face long odds with families who work hard to make ends meet,” said Julia Hockenberry, Executive Director. “We provide resources and programs to hundreds of youth daily for an all-inclusive membership fee of no more than $5 per year, per child. This is a feat that would be next to impossible without the support of amazing partners like United Federal Credit Union."
