Frontwave Credit Union recently donated $15,000 and nearly 2,500 pounds of food to three local food banks as a continuation of its 70th Anniversary Acts of Kindness campaign.
At its annual all-staff “Super Monday” event held Monday, October 10, 2022, Frontwave Credit Union called upon its employees to support local communities with a canned food drive and pledged to match donations dollar-per-pound. With over 260 employees in attendance, the credit union was able to raise nearly 2,500 pounds of food and exceeded its monetary match by donating $5,000 each to three Southern California food banks in its Membership area: North County Food Bank serving San Diego County, Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino (FARSB) serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, and FIND Food Bank serving the Coachella Valley Desert region.
“From October through January, we receive a major influx in inquiries from families struggling to put food on the table,” said Angela Jugon, Development Director of FARSB. “Donations like this from Frontwave Credit Union will help create over 35,000 meals for our Inland Empire community.”
“We wouldn’t be where we are today without the continued support of the communities we serve and we believe, through simple acts of kindness, we can enact positive change in our communities,” said Bill Birnie, President/CEO of Frontwave Credit Union. “Through these donations, we’re not only able to provide critical food assistance to families in need today, but also help provide basic necessities to help them thrive tomorrow.”
