RCU Foundation hosts inaugural Making a Difference trivia event

The Royal Credit Union Foundation (RCU Foundation) hosted its inaugural Making a Difference (M.A.D) Trivia night at the 45th Parallel Distillery on Thursday, October 20th. The RCU Foundation partnered with the New Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce to offer an event that raised funds for the New Richmond School District’s Happy Kids Backpack Program.

“The RCU Foundation donation of $5,000 to the New Richmond Happy Kids Backpack Program is incredible for the families we serve. Rising costs of goods for our program, combined with a simultaneous rise in participation, requires more funds than ever before,” said Bobbie Guyette, Supervisor of Nutrition for the School District of New Richmond. “The generosity of all those involved in the M.A.D. Trivia Event have directly ensured that our program will continue and provide much needed nourishment to families in our community.”

“The RCU Foundation has held Rock the Riverfront as a fundraising event for organizations in the Chippewa Valley for many years, but this is our first fundraiser in the New Richmond area,” said John Sackett, RCU Foundation President. “It was great to see the community come together at this sold out event to support the Happy Kids Backpack program as well as the RCU Foundation.”

The M.A.D. Trivia night had over 150 participants gathered on teams of eight and competing during six rounds of trivia for prizes. Additional fundraising opportunities were offered at the event to help increase the donation amount for the New Richmond Happy Kids Backpack Program.
