After closely monitoring the aftermath of Hurricane Francine, we are thrilled to announce that Credit Union Fest will take place as planned tomorrow, Saturday, September 14, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Lafreniere Park. At a time when our community needs it the most, Credit Union Fest stands ready to welcome everyone for live music, food, and, fun.
Credit Union Fest is free and open to the public. An array of food trucks are available for purchase as well as a cash bar. The event features:
- Flow Tribe and Sugar Shaker bring live music to the stage throughout the day
- Food Truck Challenge where the best local food trucks compete for $10,000
- Craft Market showcasing local artisans and unique products
- Kids' area that includes nonstop fun on the park’s signature carousel
- A chance to win TWO tickets to the year's hottest concert in the Superdome this October!
“We understand how stressful the aftermath of the hurricane has been for our community. And even as some of our neighbors still are without electricity, we are excited to provide an opportunity to enjoy a safe and vibrant outdoor event,” commented Jared Freeman, CEO of OnPath FCU. “Whether you're a music lover, a foodie, or looking for family-friendly fun, Credit Union Fest has something for everyone.”
Credit unions share the same vision: to make a powerful and positive impact on the communities they serve. Credit Union Fest is designed to raise awareness that credit unions are just like other financial institutions with everyone having access to one.
