America’s Credit Unions announces upcoming layoffs affecting 25–30% of its workforce

Credit Union National Association, doing business as America’s Credit Unions, will implement  layoffs as a result of a recent merger and forecasts of business needs going forward, according to a WARN notice. The layoffs will affect employees in Wisconsin, the District of Columbia, Virginia, and various remote locations reporting to those states, including employees at 4703 Madison Yards Way, Suite 300 in Madison.

Layoffs are expected to begin in March and continue through July. They are expected to be permanent and may affect 25–30% of the company’s 320-employee workforce across all offices. The potentially affected workers were notified on Jan. 12. The layoffs may affect all job titles; decisions on individuals have not been finalized.

As some employees are represented workers, the business manager and president of OPEIU Local 39 and local elected officials serving Madison were also notified. Those employees who are in the collective bargaining unit have bumping rights.
