$1.1 billion communication Federal Credit Union launches IMM’s Teller capture
Long-term IMM client taps into tightly integrated Check21 solution
RAHWAY, NJ (February 28, 2018) — IMM, the leading source of eSignatures designed exclusively for financial institutions, announced that Oklahoma City-based Communication Federal Credit Union successfully completed an enterprise-wide rollout of its eTeller Check21 solution. The system automates many of the traditionally manual teller processes, while enhancing the overall member experience. The credit union selected its long-term partner, IMM, citing the company’s unique integration capabilities and in-depth knowledge of the financial services industry.
Communication Federal Credit Union was in search of a trusted teller capture solution to support its 22 branches. As a long time IMM client, the credit union looked to the company’s suite of technology offerings to meet its operational needs, seeking to boost the branch experience for its more than 83,000 members. The credit union found IMM’s eTeller Check21 solution outperformed industry standards by providing an integrated offering that works seamlessly with the credit union’s core business system, Fiserv XP2.
Stephanie Miller, Director of Education and Development Communication Federal Credit Union, stated, “We needed a solution that completely integrated with our current business systems. We began implementing an alternative teller capture solution a few years ago, but quickly stopped the project in large part due to its inability to integrate with our existing systems. We very quickly recognized that this lack of integration was causing errors and frustrating delays. After performing the necessary due diligence and talking to many of our peers in the industry, it became clear that IMM was the only provider that could meet our specific needs. IMM also had an in-depth understanding and knowledge of a credit union’s operating environment which was incredibly important for us.”
Prior to the launch, the credit union ensured all employees, regardless of their role and responsibilities, received education and training regarding the new teller-based Check21 solution. The intuitive design of IMM’s system reduced training requirements, as a result there were very few issues encountered during the implementation of the eTeller Check21 solution. Immediately following the live roll-out of the system across Communication’s branch network, both credit union employees and members began observing the benefits of the solution, including faster transaction times, automated entry of transaction data into the teller screens, and the subsequent archival of processed check images and associated receipts into the CU’s imaging system.
“We truly consider everyone at IMM a part of our team,” Miller continued. “They are equally invested in our success and ensuring their technology ultimately allows us to better serve the needs of our members. IMM’s commitment to a successful roll-out this new technology resulted in little to no disruption to our employees or members.”
IMM’s Teller-based Check21 solution simplifies end-of-day balancing and reduces transaction keystrokes to boost overall efficiency. Tellers are kept in a perpetual state of balance throughout the day and are able to spend more time with each member, rather than involved in the transaction itself. The transactional data is automatically fed into the credit union’s core system while electronic cash letters (ECL) are generated and ready for transmission to selected endpoints. To conclude the daily process cycle, the transaction’s check and receipt images are stored in the financial institution’s imaging/ECM system.
“Our Teller-based Check21 solution improves how credit unions capture, process, archive and research deposited checks,” added IMM’s Director of Customer Success, Philip Elwyn. “Financial Institutions continue to battle fraud associated with check deposits. Through the available Fraud Prevention module, tellers are notified real-time of any potential or verified risks associated with the check items being deposited. This significant benefit is driving renewed interest in teller-based Check21 systems.
